The Pharmacy Show 2024 at the NEC was a great success, and we were delighted to connect with so many visitors at our exhibition stand. While showcasing our heritage products, Minadex and Califig, one particular feature stood out—our beautifully restored Mahogany Apothecary Chemist display counter.
A Piece of History on Display
Crafted in 1870, this stunning cabinet holds a rich story. It was originally part of a chemist's shop in Swansea and found new life in the late 1980s as the front counter of an antiques shop in Llanelli, Wales, where we discovered it. Recognizing its historical charm, we had the cabinet meticulously restored to its former glory, making it the perfect centerpiece for our stand.
Visitors were impressed by the cabinet’s timeless appeal, often pausing to appreciate its intricate design and craftsmanship. Many remarked on how well it complemented the heritage of our brand. It was especially fitting that Califig, founded just a few years later in 1879, shares a similar era of origin with this antique display piece.
A Glimpse of the Past
Inside the cabinet, we displayed 100-year-old bottles of Califig, some still containing the original solution. This unique display added a touch of nostalgia to our stand, allowing attendees to connect with our brand’s deep-rooted history. It was a reminder of how far our products have come, while staying true to their traditional foundations.
Minadex & Califig: Heritage Meets Modern Health
Our stand at The Pharmacy Show also featured Minadex, a trusted multivitamin developed in London, known for its blend of advanced vitamins and minerals. Alongside it was Califig, celebrated as "Nature's pleasant laxative since 1879," offering gentle digestive support through real fig extract.
The combination of our historical cabinet and these longstanding products truly embodied our mission—to blend the best of the past with modern solutions that meet today’s needs.
A Successful Show
The interest in our cabinet was matched by enthusiasm for our products, with over 2,000 goody bags filled with branded merchandise and literature handed out. We also distributed 2,000 sample bottles of Minadex Multivitamin Liquid (60ml), allowing visitors to experience the quality of our products firsthand.
